It’s a Privilege

It has been my honor and privilege to serve as a cancer registrar, speaker, and author for the past 20+ years! Registrars are a unique healthcare professional, highly trained in anatomy and physiology, cancer disease process, and the healthcare delivery process. Not only has clinical and scientific medicine changed dramatically since I first started, but so has the technology. AI automation in the cancer registry offers scalable, and often customizable, options for collecting critical data in tandem with the patient’s journey and transforming it into decision-grade data that can be used by clinicians, allied health, operations and administrators today. These changes and optimizing cancer registry workflows require changes in mindset and philosophy, which are not always easy. I look forward to the next 20 years and helping my colleagues and their organizations navigate these advances!
